"I can't believe I'm the first player from Asia [to win it]. I'm very thankful for the support. They support every day, every weekend, every game."

He was picked from a shortlist of five, featuring Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne, Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Arsenal's Theo Walcott.

"It's definitely one of the best goals I've scored, if not the best," Henderson said. "As soon as it left my boot really I thought I had a chance."

HULL CONFIRM PHELAN AS HEAD COACH

Mike Phelan says "It's exciting to step over that threshold into management and I'm looking forward to working with this group of players that has done so well so far,"

BUHARI'S GOVERNMENT HIJACKED

The President's wife Mrs. Aisha Buhari has spoken that her support for her husband rest on his decision to shake up his government.

The president's wife speaking in an interview in Kano said that her husband's government has been hijacked by a group called "the cabal" who were appointed behind presidential appointments.

Speaking further she reveal that her husband is yet to tell her about the appointments and if things continues that way up to 2019, she won't go out and campaign again and ask other women to vote like she did previously.

Aisha Buhari who spoke against the backdrop of growing discontent over Buhari's popular declaration that he belongs to everybody and belong to one emphasized that "I may not back him at the next election unless he shakes up his government" She lamented that most of the officials of the government are made known to the President's wife and first family, adding that they added nothing to help APC in the struggle for the 2015 Elections.

When asked the names of those who had hijacked the government, she declared that "you will know them if you watch television"

She further added that "some of them don't even have voters card, and those who made sacrifice have been reduced to nothing and certainly they are not happy with the way things are going"

DO YOU KNOW?

  1. Early electronic computers, developed around the 1940’s, were the size of a large room and consumed huge amounts of electricity. They were vastly different to the modern computers we use today, especially when compared to small and portable laptop computers.

  2. A computer’s memory stores numbers in huge amounts of cells that are addressed and can be quickly accessed by the CPU to perform calculations. There are two main types of computer memory, ROM (read only memory) and RAM (random access memory).  ROM contains pre-written software and data that the CPU can only read, while RAM can be accessed and written to at any time.

SEE THE FIRST SONG WRITER TO WIN NOBEL PRIZE IN LITERATURE

US singer Bob Dylan has been awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize for Literature, becoming the first songwriter to win the prestigious award.

The 75-year-old rock legend received the prize "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition".
The balladeer, artist and actor is the first American to win since novelist Toni Morrison in 1993.
His songs include Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They are A-Changin'
Dylan - who took his stage name from the poet Dylan Thomas - had long been tipped as a potential prize recipient.
Bob Dylan - the first person to win a Nobel Prize the same day as he plays a gig in Las Vegas.
What makes a man who has only ever written three books a suitable winner of the Nobel Prize for literature?
Bob Dylan arguably made the lyrics more important than the music.
Last Friday Dylan supported The Rolling Stones at the Desert Trip Festival in California and his set included Rainy Day Women #12 & 35 from that very album.
It is a song with the refrain "everybody must get stoned," leading to decades-long debates about whether it deals with Old Testament-style punishment or a call to smoke cannabis. Or most probably both.
Few would argue that is one of his finest lyrics, but it does demonstrate the mixture of political questioning, religious exploration and interest in humanity which has been woven through his work for more than 50 years and has secured him this award.
The result also demonstrates a real change for the prize. In 112 years, no songwriter has ever won before.
The decision elevates song lyrics to being on a critical par with literature, poetry and playwriting. It's a big step away from the self-perpetuating intellectualism and elitism for which the award had been criticised.
Dylan was born Robert Allen Zimmerman in 1941 and began his musical career in 1959, playing in coffee houses in Minnesota.
Much of his best-known work dates from the 1960s, when he became an informal historian of America's troubles.
Blowin' in the Wind and The Times They are A-Changin' were among anthems of the anti-war and civil rights movements.
His move away from traditional folk songwriting, paired with a controversial decision to "go electric" proved equally influential.
Dylan's many albums include Highway 61 Revisited in 1965, Blonde on Blonde in 1966 and Blood on the Tracks in 1975.
Since the late 1980s he has toured persistently, an undertaking he has dubbed the "Never-Ending Tour".

DEFINITIONS OF A COMPUTER

As we know today our modern world is now a Computer world where everything we do know involves a computer but it's unfortunate that most people don't know what a computer is or how to use it.

Today I will be giving various definitions about a computer
  1. A Computer is an electronic device that accepts data as input and processes the data to information as its output.
  2. A Computer is an electronic device that stores and processes data into information.
  3. A computer is a programmable electronic device designed to accept data, perform prescribed mathematical and logical operations at high speed, and display the results of these operations.
Now having known the definition of a computer, Lets look at various units of a computer

UNITS OF A COMPUTER

  1. Input unit: This is the process of entering data and programs in to the computer system. You should know that computer is an electronic machine like any other machine which takes as inputs raw data and performs some processing giving out processed data. Therefore, the input unit takes data from us to the computer in an organized manner for processing.

  2. Storage unit: he process of saving data and instructions permanently is known as storage. Data has to be fed into the system before the actual processing starts. It is because the processing speed of Central Processing Unit (CPU) is so fast that the data has to be provided to CPU with the same speed. Therefore the data is first stored in the storage unit for faster access and processing. This storage unit or the primary storage of the computer system is designed to do the above functionality. It provides space for storing data and instructions.

  3. Processing Unit: The task of performing operations like arithmetic and logical operations is called processing. The Central Processing Unit (CPU) takes data and instructions from the storage unit and makes all sorts of calculations based on the instructions given and the type of data provided. It is then sent back to the storage unit.

  4. Output Unit: This is the process of producing results from the data for getting useful information. Similarly the output produced by the computer after processing must also be kept somewhere inside the computer before being given to you in human readable form. Again the output is also stored inside the computer for further processing.

  5. Control Unit: The manner how instructions are executed and the above operations are performed. Controlling of all operations like input, processing and output are performed by control unit. It takes care of step by step processing of all operations inside the computer.

  6. Arithmetic and Logical Unit: After you enter data through the input device it is stored in the primary storage unit. The actual processing of the data and instruction are performed by Arithmetic Logical Unit. The major operations performed by the ALU are addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, logic and comparison. Data is transferred to ALU from storage unit when required. After processing the output is returned back to storage unit for further processing or getting stored.

  7. Central Processing Unit: The ALU and the CU of a computer system are jointly known as the central processing unit. You may call CPU as the brain of any computer system. It is just like brain that takes all major decisions, makes all sorts of calculations and directs different parts of the computer functions by activating and controlling the operations.

Arsenal Boss backs Gareth Southgate to be next England Manager

The former Middlesbrough manager has taken four points from his first two World Cup qualifying games, prompting the Arsenal boss to back him to take over permanently
Arsene Wenger believes England should shun some of the high-profile names linked with the permanent manager's job and stick with Gareth Southgate.

Southgate is reported to have impressed the Football Association after two games of his four-match interim role, picking up four points in the World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.
The former Middlesbrough boss is one of a number of candidates under consideration to succeed Sam Allardyce on a full-time basis, along with the likes of Roberto Mancini, Ralf Rangnick and Glenn Hoddle.
And long-serving Arsenal manager Wenger, who himself has been mentioned as a future Three Lions boss, feels Southgate deserves his chance to try and lead England to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

He told reporters at his news conference ahead of Saturday's game with Swansea City: "He [Southgate] has accumulated experience first with Middlesbrough, now with the federation.
"He was a good observer of what was going on with the England team [as the Under-21 boss].
"When you are in a job where people question you, and especially when you have less experience, the only answer you can give is by his selection and decision making. So show that your decisions are right and that you have the strength to believe what you do is right."

Asked if Southgate was the outstanding candidate currently, he added: "Yes, he is I think. That is the difficulty in England, there's a demand for the big names but what is most important is if the person is competent he can make a name for himself and he has a good opportunity to show that.
"I'm happy he has the opportunity to show he has quality."
